Apparently Facebook has isolated its WordPress plugin that was created by Automattic in 2012 but has not made any official announcement regarding that. This plugin enabled WordPress builders to accommodate and manage Social Plugins but has been left un-updated for over a year now. However this plugin does lie in the plugin listing, creating a repository of unused plugins. The plugin utilizes the ever-changing Facebook APIs and considering this fact it is practically hard to keep it updated and dynamic all the time. WordPress is stuck with the option of using alternative plugins in the absence of a developer who would give this plugin a boost since Automattic clearly stated that it no longer has a role to play in maintaining the plugin.
